𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐣𝐢𝐧𝐠,𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫,𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒— President Salva Kiir Mayardit is among the African leaders gathering at the Forum on China-African Cooperation as deliberations enter Centre stage on elevating the continent’s diplomatic ties to “strategic” levels.
Delivering his keynote address at the opening ceremony,President Xi Jinping announced a big package that shall cover areas on infrastructure projects, agriculture, trade, people- to-people exchanges and peace and security across the two sides as well as generating over one million jobs.
In his address to the delegates, Chinese President Xi declared a substantial financial commitment, ensuring three times more infrastructure projects compared to previous summits. The monumental billion of dollars fund is set to be primarily distributed through credit lines, with the added boost in direct investments by the Chinese corporations.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, Amb. Monday Semaya Kumba emphasized the forum’s pivotal role in fortifying the ties between China and the African continent, illuminating the significance of this diplomatic event. Besides, the forum adopted the Beijing Declaration on building “a shared future in the new era” as well as the Beijing Action Plan for 2025-2027 to spearhead their comprehensive strategic and cooperative partnership.
