President Kiir Departs to Nairobi for Launch of Nairobi Peace Process
JUBA, Thursday (May 9th, 2024)- H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit this morning travelled to Nairobi, Kenya, to attend the launch of the Nairobi Peace process between the government and the Hold-out groups who did not sign the 2018 peace agreement.
Press Secretary in the Office of the President, Hon. Lily Adhieu Martin Manyiel said the two heads of state will also hold bilateral meetings.
In 2020, negotiations between the government and the Non- Signatories to the Peace Agreement were mediated by the Community of Sant’Egidio in Rome.
