President Kiir Continues to Receive Outpouring Condolences from Government Officials and the Public

𝐉𝐮𝐛𝐚, 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒– President Kiir continues to receive outpouring condolences from government officials and the public, following the passing of his elder sister, Anok Mayardit.

South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit has lost his elder sister, Anok Mayardit.

Announcing the demise of the president’s sister, the Presidential Press Unit said: “In a solemn time for the nation, President Kiir has received an outpouring condolence from officials and the public, following the passing of his elder sister, Anok Mayardit.”

It added,” Messages of sympathy flooded in from Vice Presidents, advisors, ministers, legislators, Generals, both expressing their heartfelt sorrow and support for the President during this difficult time.”

The statement did not give further details about Anok’s death.
