General Dhel Mathiang Dhel, offering condolences to the family. The late’s body was taken to Rumbek, where he would be laid to rest.
Rumbek, October 29, 2024 โ€“ H.E. Lt. Gen. Rin Tueny Mabor yesterday morning joined mourners at Rumbek airport to pay his last respect to late Gen. Dhel Mathiang Dhel, affectionately known as “Amuri.” Who passed away few days ago after a short illness.
Following this, he traveled to Akot Payam in Rumbek East County to attend the initial funeral prayers for the late Gen. Martin Macuei Malual Arop.
During the prayers, Governor Rin expressed that these tragic events of loss extend beyond personal grief; they represent significant losses for our entire community and the very essence of our society.
We are currently in a state of mourning, contemplating the invaluable legacies left by those who have passed. Their wisdom, leadership, and commitment to our state will be profoundly missed. Each individual has contributed significantly to the development of our community, and their absence creates an irreplaceable void.
He also urged the church and all citizens of Lakes State to pray for the souls of our departed elders and leaders, hoping they may find peace and comfort in the afterlife.
