The Minister Hon. Michael Makuei Lueth has Dismissed Allegations that Tumaini is Dead

SEPT 30, 2024 (JUBA) – The National Minister of Information, Communication Technology and Postal Services, Michael Makuei Lueth has dismissed as untrue all the rumours circulating within and outside the country that Tumaini Initiative is dead.

The Minister said Tumaini is alive and the government is working to ensure its delegation is back to Nairobi.

Makuei was speaking on Monday when The Norwegian Ambassador met him over the fate of the Tumaini Initiative and the recent extension of Revitalized Agreement for the resolution of the conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS) by the government to 2026.

According to Michael Makuei who is also the government rapporteur to Nairobi peace talks, the recent extension was meant to give life and legitimacy to the current government and not an end to the ongoing peace process in Nairobi.
