The announcement was made in a meeting between President Salva Kiir Mayardit and Vice President for Economic Cluster Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel on Friday.
This is to restore confidence among the public and organized forces in the governmentโs commitment to timely wages payments.
Dr. Bol Mel said starting this March; salaries will be disbursed consistently on the 24th day of every month – an essential step towards ensuring public service delivery, administrative efficiency, and economic reforms.
The Vice President of Economic Cluster added that they have already charted a roadmap to clear all outstanding salary arrears progressively.
He announced the following key economic interventions.
1. Investment in non-oil sectors to diversify the economy
2. Implementation of Financial regulations to ensure fiscal responsibility
3. Introduction of Biometric payment system to enhance transparency in salary distribution
4. Integration of the Banking system for improved financial operations
5. Establishment of a wage bill monitoring system to oversee payroll management
